Is the app Free or Paid?

Yes to both. There is a free forever plan that includes 30+ sounds. In the free forever plan sounds will play for up to eight hours at a time. To unlock all 80+ sounds and all features there is a Premium subscription.

How do I know if I am on the Free Forever plan or on a subscription?

You are on the Free Forever plan if any of the below two statements are true:

  • When scrolling in the sounds table view some sounds have a lock icon on the right.
  • From the Controls tab an “Upgrade” button is visible.

You are on a trial or have subscribed to Premium when all sounds are playable and there is no “Upgrade” button in the Controls tab.

How can I cancel my Premium Subsciption?

To cancel your trial or subscription go to the Settings tab and press “Manage Subscriptions” then press the “Cancel Subsciption” button at least 24 hours prior to the renewal date. Or you can follow the instructions at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039.

Note that many of the sounds and features will continue to work even after the subscription has ended.

I’ve updated my app and my previous in-app purchase doesn’t work anymore.

To restore your previous purchase go to Settings -> Restore Purchases -> Restore. Then restart your iPhone or iPad to ensure the purchase is fully restored.

I got a new iPhone/iPad.  How do I restore my previous In-App Purchases or Subsciption?

To restore your previous purchase open the app on the new device and go to Settings -> Restore Purchases -> Restore. Then restart your iPhone or iPad to ensure the purchase is fully restored.

Can I use the app on multiple devices (i.e both iPhone and iPad)?

Yes, after downloading the app onto your other device. Open the App, go to Settings -> Restore Purchases -> Restore. Then restart your iPhone or iPad to ensure the purchase is fully restored. Both devices must have the same Apple ID.

What does the “Auto Play” control do?

This control causes the app to begin playing the last selected sound or mix immediately when you open the app.

Why does the app stop playing after eight hours?

The Free version of the App limits play to eight hours at a time.  You can subscribe to Premium to unlock continuous play or set a timer for up to 12 hours.

I upgraded to Premium but the features are not activated?

Ensure you are connected to the internet via Wi-Fi.  Restart your phone.  Open the App, go the Settings -> Restore Purchases -> Restore. Restart your device.

Does the app work offline or in Airplane mode?

Yes.  The app will play sounds offline or in Airplane mode.  If you want to use AirPlay to play over an external speaker you will need to enable Wi-Fi.  Alternatively, the App will play over Bluetooth.

Does the app play in the background while the screen is locked?

Yes.  The app will continue playing sounds while in the background while the screen is locked and turn itself off when the timer expires (unless you are in continuous play mode).

What happens when I receive a phone call while the app is playing?

If you receive a phone call, the app will pause the sounds and it will resume playing them after the phone call has ended.

How can I prevent alerts, notifications, emails, text messages or phone calls from interrupting the audio playback?

There are three options to help silence the beeps and squeaks of your phone’s notifications.

  1. Silence your ringer.  On iPhone, toggle the physical switch to vibrate.  On iPad, press the Mute icon from the Control Center.
  2. Enable Do Not Disturb.
  3. Enable Airplane Mode.

How does the oscillator effect work?

It pans the sounds back and forth by shifting the balance between the left and right speakers (similar to the sound of a desk fan oscillating left and right).  The oscillator feature is limited to the first 10 minutes of play on the Free version.  Upgrade to Premium to remove the 10 minute limit.

How does the fader effect work?

The fader causes the sound volume to gradually fade out to zero.  In the free version you can set the fader for up to one minute. Upgrade to Premium to set the fader for up to one hour.  When in continuous play mode, the fader has no effect.

How does the mix feature work?

You can combine up to ten sounds to create your own unique sound mix (limited to two sounds in the free version). From the Sounds tab, press the circle on the right hand side of sound(s) you want to add to your mix. Go to the Mix tab and use the slider to adjust the volume of each sound. Press “Play Mix”. Note that while playing a mix with more than one sound, the Oscillator feature will not work.

How does the “Background Audio” feature work?

The Background Audio feature allows you to play sounds from “White Noise and Deep Sleep Sounds” along with audio from other apps at the same time. For example you can play the “Fan” sound in the background while you listen to an audio book, a podcast, or some music in another app.
